Bangalore Music Festival - Beat Gurus live in concert on 1 March 2013 at Phoenix Marketcity Mahadevapura Bengaluru, 6.30.pm

BEAT GURUS, tribal percussion band, will be performing live at Phoenix Marketcity Mahadevapura Bangalore on 1st March (Friday), 6 PM onwards. Clap & Tap our feet to the wonderful West African Mexican, Middle East, Indian & Australian Percussion Music.

About the Band BEAT GURUS :

Started in the year 1999 at a small outhouse which was let out by one of their friends. Initially the band was called 'Green Rhythm' & had only these two in the band, They had a burning desire of forming a larger band, whose name was chosen to be as 'BEAT GURUS'.

From two the band now has grown to nine members who are as enthusiastic in performing for the band if not less. We visualize our band to perform across National and International platforms whilst be able to communicate to the audience through our music.

"We Now A band of 9 with absolute love towards Djembe which is a West - African hand drum, shaped like a large goblet and meant to be played with bare hands. Djembe comes directly from the saying "Anke dje, anke be" which literally translates to "everyone gather together" and defines the drum's purpose In the Bamanakan language. Which is exactly what we guys are doing. We have been performing for the past ten Years and we are happy that we got our first stage in Bangalore in the year 2000. We have performed all over India mainly Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, etc and the main person and the founding member of the band 'Ganesh Govindswamy' has performed and conducted workshops in some parts of the world like Singapore, Europe etc. We have also performed for various corporate and other cultural events to name mainly HSBC, AXA, DELL, IBM, DELPHIA, ACCENTURE, BHOOMI JAATHRE, BANGALOORU HAABA, and some events in the section of media like ETV KANNADA, UDAYA TV, TV9, WORLD SOCIAL FORUM(Mumbai), NDTV, BBC(world travel awards) and INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EVENING(Norway), Bangalore International WINE Festival. Etc..."
