About the book:
A string of midnight robberies in his neighbourhood has theatre actor Vishnuvardhan concerned. And what makes it even stranger is that all the street dogs in that very area have gone missing. Donning the mantle of Detective Sahasasimha, the feisty gentleman is determined to get to the root of the matter. He is sure that there is a link between the thieves and the missing dogs. Assisted by his clever grandchildren, Jyesta and Shloka, he sets off on a quest which takes him deep into a jungle where he has to deal with dangers that threaten more than just the street they live on. This time it is the constantly endangered world of animals that the fearless detective focuses his attention on.
About the Publisher:
Amar Chitra Katha is one of India’s largest selling comic book series, with more than 90 million copies sold in 20 Indian languages. Founded in 1967, the imprint has more than 400 titles that retell stories from the great Indian epics, mythology, history, folklore, and fables in a comic book format. It was created by Anant Pai and published by India Book House. The comic series was started by Anant Pai in an attempt to teach Indian children about their cultural heritage. He was shocked that Indian students could answer questions on Greek and Roman mythology, but were ignorant of their own history, mythology and folklore. In 2007, the imprint and all its titles were acquired by a new venture called ACK Media.
